Salary: Starting salary £21,029 -£26,029 pro rata (dependent on qualifications, skills, experience; MIGSG has its own payscale). 

We are looking for a qualified part time teacher of English (0.7) 3.5 days to join our enthusiastic team from December 2021. The successful candidate will work in a caring and energetic school with distinctive ethos. You will be required to teach KS3 and KS4 and will be expected to contribute to maintaining the high standards of this successful small department.

Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls is an independent all girls 11 – 16 secondary school located to the south-east of Manchester City Centre, in Chorlton. We are a relatively small school of approximately 240 students, which has been rated outstanding at its last two inspections.

The successful candidate will:

• Have an appropriate teaching qualification and be qualified to degree level

• Have an  English specialism

• Be able to teach Key Stage 3 and 4, up to GCSE level

• Be passionate about English, and committed to delivering lessons that will engage, enthuse and motivate our learners to succeed.

• Have excellent interpersonal and presentational skills

• Differentiate teaching to suit learners of different abilities

• Be forward-thinking, inspirational and receptive to change

• Be able to work independently

About Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls

The Manchester Islamic High School for Girls is an all girls, Muslim independent secondary school in the county of Lancashire serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Chorlton, Manchester has approximately 219 students on record. 

The Manchester Islamic High School for Girls was established in 1991 by the Manchester Islamic Education Trust Ltd, who also oversee The Manchester Muslim Preparatory School and Kassim Darwish Grammar School for Boys. It was the first school in Manchester to combine the teaching of Islam along with the National Curriculum. The school was identified as outstanding by Ofsted in 2015.
