Harris Academy Merton opened in 2006 and serves students from Year 7 to Sixth Form. The Academy achieved a grading of 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2008 and repeated this 2012 under the more challenging criteria. The Academy is set in seven acres of land and favourably located for public transport with good local access to bus, mainline train and underground links, as well as on-site parking for vehicles and bicycles.

We require an enthusiastic teacher to join our strong team of English specialists to contribute to raising standards from KS3 to Post 16. The English Department is generously staffed with small class sizes and T.A. support.

The successful candidate will:

  • be a specialist to teach English KS3 – KS5
  • have knowledge of the KS4 curriculum for both English Language and Literature
  • have knowledge of the KS5 curriculum (beneficial but not essential)
  • be someone with presence and authority who can deliver consistently good lessons                   
  • be a hard-working and enthusiastic team member
