The Opportunity

Hurtwood House Beijing is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and passionate English Teacher for August 2022. The successful candidate will join one of the most exciting educational projects of our time – namely the education of Chinese nationals in a bilingual context.

There are tremendous professional opportunities for teachers wishing to bring their cutting-edge practices to the most rapidly developing country in the world and it is an exciting moment in the development and expansion of Hurtwood House Beijing. Following the incredible success of the Primary School which opened in 2017, the Secondary School opened for the 2021-2022 academic year and offers incoming staff a unique opportunity to be part of a new and growing team whilst benefitting from established foundations.

Known locally as Beijing HD Bilingual School, Hurtwood House Beijing is affiliated with Hurtwood House UK, in Surrey. Hurtwood House Beijing believes that education creates character and focus on personal development and progress in equal measure to academics.

The Person

The successful candidate will have:

• A subject relevant degree from an established university (required)

• PGCE/QTS or equivalent (required)

• 2 or more years of full time, school based, teaching experience (required)

• Excellent working knowledge of the English curriculum

• High levels of English subject knowledge and know-how (required)

• Experience of working with children who have English as an additional language (required)

• Experience of working in the independent sector (desirable)
