Nanwai King’s College School is one of two school development projects in China initiated through partnership between the highly successful Chinese education management group, Dipont Education, and the prestigious King’s College School, Wimbledon. A third partner in Wuxi is Nanjing Foreign Language School, one of China’s leading schools. At capacity, the whole school will serve over 3,100 students from 3 to 18 years of age.
About the School
The school opened in September 2018 and has nearly 1300 pupils enrolled, remarkable numbers that are testament to the quality of the project, its exciting vision and the support of partners, parents and the wider community. About the Role
Working at either middle school or high school level (depending upon experience and preference), the successful applicant will join the school in August 2020. Classes are delivered throughout the school by both Chinese and English-speaking teachers to foster bilingualism in students.
At middle school level, the aim is to supplement the national curriculum and to meet the needs of each child by giving a breadth of educational experience. Focus is on the development of skills in all areas - from core subjects to co-curricular activities. Upon moving into the high school, students will undertake IGCSE English and IBDP English Language B from 2021.
The ability to tailor English language classes to both age and ability range is of key importance. All students have the opportunity to mix in weekly vertical tutor periods and through our mixed CCA activities each evening. Our pastoral coordinators promote monthly PSHE topics that are delivered through homeroom and tutor groups – these include topics such as organisational skills, anti-bullying and healthy lifestyles. Dynamic, adaptable and enthusiastic educators will fit in well with the ethos of the school and the needs of the students.
About Wuxi
With a history dating back more than 3000 years, Wuxi is one of the major cities Jiangsu province and located in the Yangtze River delta. Traditionally a canal town, it is a thriving city economically and developing further at a rapid pace with a resident population of around 6 million. Located only 45 minutes by train from Shanghai, it benefits from being part of the economic hub in East China but retains a sense of its long and rich history. The Taihu New City development is in Binhu District, an area that preserves the historic character of canal-front public spaces, lake scenery and open parkland with high quality residential, business, retail and recreational facilities. Local government has also moved to the Binhu District, and the city’s infrastructure, beautiful parks and recreational areas around the school are excellent and an easy place to live for families and single teachers alike.

Opened in September 2018, Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science's mission is to educate well-rounded young men and women who will make a positive contribution to society. We support each pupil to reach his or her full potential through the foundation of three systems: academic, co-curricular and pastoral.
With capacity for over 3,000 students, the school is growing rapidly and will have around 2,000 enrolled from September 2021.
The campus consists of:
- A pre-school for pupils aged 3 to 6 years catering for Chinese and expatriate children and offering a bilingual programme based on EYFS, international and Chinese curricula.
- A bilingual elementary and junior high school for Chinese students in Grades 1 to 9 who undertake the mandatory Chinese curriculum delivered with a modern pedagogical approach and additional English language instruction.
- An international school for expatriate students from Grade 1 to Grade 10, offering a British-style curriculum leading to IGCSEs with additional Chinese language instruction
- A high school for Chinese and expatriate students, providing a wide range of IGCSE and A Level courses. The IB Diploma Programme will be implemented from September 2021.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include a large multi-purpose sports hall, a 50 metre indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, playing fields, 400m running track, well-equipped laboratories, art rooms, drama studios, performing arts auditorium with capacity for 800 people and extensive boarding facilities. A river runs alongside the campus and a boat house has been incorporated into the campus design.

King’s College School, Wimbledon is an independent day school for boys aged 7-18 and girls aged 16-18 in Wimbledon, SW London.
