Job overview

Are you an enthusiastic advocate of all things English, someone who can lead our students to appreciate the texts they are being taught and assist them in developing the skills to communicate and express themselves in both written and spoken English? Are you ready to use your subject knowledge and teaching expertise for the benefit of our students, inspiring in them a passion for the subject and a love of all things literature?

At NSG, we have a vacancy in our English team and are looking for a teacher to maintain our high standards and deliver the curriculum imaginatively and with purpose to give our students the best opportunity to immerse themselves with engagement in this core subject. We would welcome, in particular, teachers with experience in teaching A Level. There is also the opportunity to teach Film studies which is offered in the faculty at KS4 and KS5.

We encourage you to contact us for an informal chat to find out more about our wonderful school and about the English team. You’ll find the English faculty, and the wider school, more than happy to talk to you about the work we do here.

Northampton School for Girls (NSG) is an Ofsted Outstanding, state-funded, comprehensive school on the outskirts of Northampton. Our school community is multi-faith and multi-cultural, with students coming from rural and urban settings. We seek to be one of the best schools in Northamptonshire, and this is reflected in the high standards and expectations we set for both staff and students.

At NSG, you will have access to an outstanding CPD programme, which will enable you to continue to develop and grow as both an excellent teacher and leader. In return, we expect that you will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to provide high-quality teaching; you will be a like-minded individual who will promote our ethos of respect and inclusion for all.

We seek high-quality applications from a wide spectrum of talented people, acknowledging that diversity in our staffing enriches our NSG community and the learning experience for our students. We are working to create an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and are empowered to do their best.

If you have any questions, please email us: people@nsg.northants.sch.uk

For further information, please visit:  www.nsg.northants.sch.uk/vacancies/

Applications are accepted via the school application form (available on the vacancies page) or via TES Quick Apply. Please contact the school if you need to request the application form in an alternative format.

We would encourage you to submit your application as soon as you are able as we reserve the right to act on received applications before the closing date has passed.

Closing date: 9.00am, Monday 6 December 2021

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a criminal records check, via the Disclosure & Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by NSG. Details of our safer recruitment policy can be found in the school policies section of our website.
