Teacher of English
We invite suitably qualified candidates to join our dynamic faculty, as a specialist teacher of English.
The role would suit an experienced teacher or a gifted younger teacher looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have strong credentials, a high level of personal English language ability, spoken and written, and a clear commitment to the intellectual growth and development of young people. We have modern and well-equipped facilities with interactive whiteboards/TVs as standard. There is a dynamic staff culture at the school with strong professional development which has a national reputation. There is an emphasis on the use of IT in a blended and realistic educational environment, achieving the best outcomes with varied approaches. Students have their own devices. Since the foundation of the school in 2011, POWIIS has built a significant academic reputation with excellent results, although we have students of a wide range of abilities, all equally deserving of the highest quality of teaching to the level of their potential. The curriculum is based on the English system, and examinations are IGCSEs and AS/A2.
Our students join us with a range of confidence in English. We have first, second and third language speakers, and the English department works closely with EAL specialists to achieve excellent results across the spectrum of competency.
However, this post is NOT a remedial or EAL post, and we seek an outstanding first language teacher capable of enthusing ambitious students through their own love of language and literature.
A detailed post description is provided.
Our school is committed to the highest standards of safeguarding and student welfare, and expects all applicants to share this commitment.
Malaysian work permits are usually granted for two or three years.
