‘Transforming lives, shaping dreams, inspiring our community - in learning, in life, in all that we do.’

We require the following staff for September 2023

Teacher of English x 2

MPS/UPS

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about English to join a successful and continually improving department with a talented team of specialists.

This post is suitable for NQTs and/or experienced teachers. If you are currently in post, an October/January start can be considered.

We are seeking to appoint two outstanding teachers of Key Stage 3 and 4 English who have high expectations, strong classroom management skills and good subject knowledge. You should also be prepared to continually develop your skills to ensure enjoyment and rigour in the classroom. The English Department prides itself on teamwork, passion, and drive, and applications are welcome from candidates with a similar philosophy.

OSCA is a welcoming academy which has benefitted from a major re-build and refurbishment programme. This has created exciting, new and well-equipped learning spaces. We are increasingly the academy of choice in our community and are full and oversubscribed once again.

Are you the inspirational teacher we are looking for?

We are seeking outstanding candidates to join Team OSCA. You will have:

  • A flair for innovation in learning and teaching
  • A compelling educational vision and the ability to motivate students
  • A commitment to delivering on our department and school vision

We are in very close proximity to Birmingham city centre with excellent transport links by car, bus and train; and are just a few minutes from Junction 2 of the M5.

Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. We therefore insist that all applicants complete the section on safeguarding in the application form in order to be considered for interview. No agencies.

To apply for this post, please complete the OAT/OSCA application form and return to OrmeJ@ormistonsandwell.org.uk

We do not accept CVs.

Closing date: 9.00am on Monday 19th June 2023

Interviews: During w/c 19th June 2023

Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy is located in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, and in very close proximity to the centre of Birmingham. It is a slightly larger than average, 11–16 co-educational academy with approximately 1,080 students. It has grown over the last few years and is now full and oversubscribed in every year group for the sixth consecutive year. The academy’s reputation locally is excellent, and the catchment area has shrunk dramatically over the years, with competition for places is fierce. Staff and students work in a very pleasant learning environment, which has benefitted from a major re-build and refurbishment programme. This has created exciting, new and well-equipped learning spaces. The majority of the academy’s students now live within a one-mile radius of the academy, making it an academy that is really at the heart of the community.
