Job overview

Shaftesbury School is a thriving 11-18 secondary school with an international state boarding facility, established in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have recently been judged as Good in all areas by Ofsted. We are committed to getting the best for our pupils, both academically and pastorally. Our moto, aspiration, action and achievement, inspires and is expected of both  pupils and staff alike.

The school is part of Southern Academy Trust, a multi academy trust that embraces its responsibility for the education of a generation. We have a supportive and collaborative network of staff across our schools who believe in working together to get the best for all our pupils.

An opportunity has arisen to join the English Department in Shaftesbury School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for their subject area along with having a degree in English or a related subject. They will be required to teach across a range of year groups and should therefore be familiar with the whole of the secondary phase English curriculum. Above all, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who shares the School’s vision and ethos and can build on the excellent results our school has achieved in GCSE’s and A-Level’s recently. Ideally we would like the successful candidate to start in the Summer term 2018.

Further details are available on the school website, www.shaftesburyschool.co.uk or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Tim Farrer, Principal at timothy.farrer@shaftesburyschool.co.uk

The School is committed to safeguarding the welfare of its students and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS.
