The Governors are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of English. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a small team, teaching English (language and literature) effectively at KS3 and KS4. Pupils within the department are prepared for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations and other qualifications as appropriate. The post-holder will follow departmental schemes of work and be skilled in the planning and preparation of lessons, as well as the assessment of pupils’ work, in accordance with all school policies and procedures. The post-holder will report to the Head of English, Assistant Head (Curriculum) and, ultimately, the Headmaster.
