The Escola Internacional del Camp (EIC) is an international school which opened in 2012 and will soon commence its 8th year.
The school, located in a beautiful Mediterranean environment in Salou south of Barcelona, has a new building complex with potential to welcome up to 800 students with over 650 in September, is inclusive and offers a complete education to students aged 1 to 18.
We have set up a project with our partners at one of Europe's most modern and well equipped sports complexes, and need English tutors for an international Sports Academy. A group of 18-20 year old international level footballers will live in Salou and will train and play with local and European clubs. They will also learn English and Spanish as well as other skills, and we are looking for appropriately qualified and experienced teachers, to start on September 1st and working mostly with the Academy, but attached to the school.
The project is based at EIC, a popular and happy English / Spanish / Catalan trilingual school, offering Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, National and International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma Programme), with an international emphasis and also Chinese as a foreign language. Our curriculum is based on the local curriculum but is influenced by teachers from around the world and taught mainly in English. Former students are studying in universities in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada Germany and Switzerland. We will be doubling our IB and Bachillerato numbers in the coming years.
We run a wide range of extra curricular activities, community links and projects as well as educational/cultural events and visits and an impressive annual university fair. Our sports, music and cultural events are a strong feature of life in the school.
All successful candidates should be teachers of English, team players, flexible, innovative, creative, able to differentiate in the classroom and motivated by the opportunity to work in a multilingual environment. International experience is essential, and appropriate qualifications too. Some work in supporting the students with study skills and other activities will be required.
Knowledge of Catalan and/or Spanish is also an advantage.
Essential for all candidates:
Fluent in English,- mother tongue speaker - able to teach completely in authentic English.
Teachers who love teaching English, can bring lessons alive and can inspire students of all abilities and cultures in the classroom to appreciate, enjoy and express themselves in the English language. You will need to be resourceful and creative as this is the first year of a long term project and needs great professionals to launch it in the first year.
Good ICT skills (familiar with Mac/ iPad, knowledge of educational apps)
