Job overview

Are you looking to join a well organised, successful forward thinking department to either start your career or to extend your experience?

With over 1450 students, the school is academically successful and consistently oversubscribed.   Rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted in our previous two reports, the school has much to celebrate.

Ofsted says: ·

  • “Students work hard, concentrate in lessons and participate enthusiastically”
  • “Very harmonious and respectful relationships between students and between students and staff”
  • “Students’ progress is outstanding”

Learning and teaching is at the forefront of everything we do and as a teacher at All Hallows you will be able to develop your professional skills within your strong departmental team.

All Hallows achieves excellent GSCE and A-Level results, and is in the Top 100 for progress nationally at KS4. We have excellent facilities spread over a large site, with a standalone Sixth Form Centre. There is a focus on CPD, and a dedicated Staff Development Officer maximises staff career progression. Teachers are encouraged to challenge and strive for on-going improvements, from both a curriculum and pastoral perspective.

We wish to appoint a well-qualified, ambitious teacher to the above post. The English Department currently has 10 staff, and has an excellent record of success, with high numbers of students achieving the pass grade (9 - 4) in their GCSEs (84% for Language and 85% for Literature in 2018), and many achieving grades 9-7 (30% for Language and 35% for Literature in 2018). We can also offer A-level teaching to the right candidate, with A-level English Literature, English Language and Media Studies being taught in the department. If you're ambitious and want to help us build on our successes, then we'd love to hear from you.

This is a supportive department, where ideas are welcomed and best practice is shared.    The English curriculum team is strong, enthusiastic and passionate about English and totally committed to helping every student  achieve their full potential.

Applications from Newly Qualified Teachers looking for their first post or more experienced teachers looking for a career move are equally welcome.

All staff are highly valued and are offered an extensive CPD package with a relentless focus on continually developing and improving expertise, and striving for excellence both in the classroom and beyond.

If you are considering applying to teach at All Hallows you would be very welcome to visit the school, alternatively apply via the attached application form.  Please forward your application form and CV to recruitment@allhallows.net.

All Hallows benefits from very strong transport links to London and the South East and staff have access to numerous sporting facilities after school hours including a swimming pool, fitness room and dance studio.

We reserve the right to close early and call for interview immediately, therefore early applications are actively encouraged.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and uphold the Catholic Ethos of the school.

Closing date Monday 4 March February.
