We are seeking a well-qualified, motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of English from September 2020, for a permanent position in our fantastic school. NQTs are also encouraged to apply. 

The friendly and forward-thinking English Department at George Abbot is made up of 22 members of committed and enthusiastic staff. We achieve excellent results at GCSE, AS and A Level in English Literature, English Language and Media Studies, year on year. You will have the opportunity to teach across all three key stages, depending on experience. At KS5, we currently offer English Literature, English Language and Media Studies.

We are looking for a passion for English, a track record of innovative and creative English teaching and a desire to continue to develop subject knowledge. Students at our school are courteous and motivated. We are a school committed to ongoing professional development, and our Teaching School status provides opportunities to develop too. 

George Abbot School is an 11-18, mixed comprehensive, situated on the north side of Guildford with an established reputation for high academic standards and exemplary pastoral care. Within easy reach of the town, the A3 and London Road railway station, we are an innovative and dynamic school which has a reputation for excellence in every area. George Abbot became an Academy on 1 July 2011 and went on to be a founding member of the GEP multi academy trust.

George Abbot School is a forward thinking academy providing an inclusive education, for around 2,000 young people, aged 11-18. We are located in Burpham, Guildford with good transport links to the surrounding area.
