Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of English to join a High School based in Sutton.

The High School is seeking an engaging and passionate teacher to deliver English to highly motivated girls in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.

The successful candidate should have the capability to teach across the secondary age range, creating challenging and thought-provoking lessons, with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration. English is taught in mixed ability sets (of no more than 24 pupils), with A Level English Literature a popular option for pupils.

This is a part-time role (working four days per week).

This role would be ideally suited to an ECT, looking to join a supportive department, with superb ECT provision for professional development. 

At their school, girls want to learn, and you can focus on teaching your subject and enthusing them. Experienced teachers receive a generous planning allowance (20% PPA). For ECTs, additional planning time is given, and they have a comprehensive ECT mentoring programme.

The High School is a vibrant and diverse independent day school for girls with an age range of 3 to 18 years. They are situated on a green and leafy site in central Sutton, close to excellent public transport links and major roads. Both Senior and Junior Schools are amongst the top schools in the country.
