There are 16 members of staff within the English and Media department, many of whom hold additional responsibilities within the school. We pride ourselves on having excellent student leadership and high staff-retention rates. There are extensive CPD opportunities within the department and the school as a whole, and our commitment to pedagogy and practice has ensured high outcomes. The department is a warm and friendly team that are interested in teaching outside of the classroom, as well as within it. We offer a range of extracurricular activities including DebateMate and Speak Out. We ensure we offer enrichment opportunities through trips to the theatre, Poetry Live and the Tate Modern.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher of English, who is passionate about teaching literature and language in a London school and love engaging with responsive, thoughtful and interested students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and energetic team who strive to ensure that all students enjoy learning and surpass expectations. The school is situated within sight of the iconic Wembley Stadium, and provides access to all that Wembley has to offer. The school benefits from fantastic links both through public transport and by car. It is a short 10 minute walk from Wembley Park and Preston Road Underground Stations and a 10 minute bus journey from North Wembley Station. The Metropolitan, Jubilee and Bakerloo lines as well as the London Overground/Network rail are within easy reach of the school. Central London locations can easily be reached within 20 minutes from the school. The school is also accessible to major motorways (M25, M1, M40 and A40 etc.).
