I am honoured to be entrusted with leading Thomas Telford UTC on this extraordinary journey. We opened our doors in 2020 with a vision to provide exceptional education, and since then, we have excelled in providing an outstanding learning environment. Our dedication to high standards has allowed us to build a strong reputation for academic excellence, innovation, and student success.

Working together with the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust we provide our students with the perfect combination of academic and technical excellence in preparation for the world of work and the fantastic opportunities that await them.

I want every child that comes to Thomas Telford UTC to be part of the fabric of the school, and to go home every day fulfilled and happy that they have made progress in their learning and development. I am excited to see the individual growth or each of our students over the coming years.

The Role

We are looking for an aspirational teacher of English to join our dynamic department in September 2025. TLR may be available for a suitably experienced candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful English Department, which prides itself on high-quality teaching, strong resources, and a collaborative ethos. We deliver a rich and engaging KS3 curriculum designed to foster a love of language and literature, as well as the full range of KS4 English GCSEs. At KS5, students have the opportunity to study A-Levels in both English Literature and Film Studies.

Our mission is to empower students to learn from Literature, to understand the lessons of the past and apply them to build a better, stronger future. We emphasise the importance and relevance of what students study, equipping them with the skills to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage meaningfully with the ever changing world around them.

We are proud to announce the inception of a new school from the Thomas Telford Multi-Academy Trust that opened to Year 7 students for the first time in September 2020, which sees the collaboration of the outstanding Thomas Telford School with Thomas Telford University Technical College. The strengths of the two schools have come together to offer students a truly ground-breaking opportunity.
