King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college, operating within the further education sector.  The college specialises in the delivery of A levels for 16 to 19 year olds, offering a broad curriculum with extensive enrichment opportunities.  The college is a vibrant, inclusive community with over 2000 students from a variety of cultural and social backgrounds, all united in their enthusiasm for learning.

We seek a part-time teacher of fine art, with the ability to teach graphic communication. The anticipated start date for this post is 24 August 2020.  

Working as part of our creative and highly collaborative visual arts team, the post holder will play a key role in inspiring students to engage with the subject material and to participate actively in lessons.  As a committed and dedicated teacher, the post holder will contribute to this growing subject area, ensuring students benefit from a high quality learning experience.

Applications will be welcomed from well-qualified graduates, wishing to begin their teaching career by specialising in sixth form teaching.  Newly qualified teachers are able to acquire qualified teacher status at sixth form colleges and the college arranges for the necessary pre-16 teaching experience at one of our partner 11-16 schools.  For experienced teachers, post-16 experience in sixth form, tertiary or general FE colleges and maintained or independent schools will be equally relevant.  Although a postgraduate teaching qualification is preferred, applicants without this qualification are also encouraged to apply.  The college is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training.

This is a permanent, part-time post, subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association.  Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association teacher staff pay scale, NSP 1 – 9 (£24098 - £39329), depending on experience. The contract will be based on 0.4 FTE minimum fraction, with the fraction for 2020/21 anticipated at 0.6 FTE.
