We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Food and Nutrition to a successful and forward thinking faculty. Experience of teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition is essential. You will have a proven track record with improving progress and raising achievement at all levels, and must enjoy working in a vibrant and busy team.
The role will involve teaching KS3 and KS4 food and nutrition, and there may be the possibility of teaching some KS3 graphics. The ability to be able to teach other specialisms within the department would be an advantage, but is not essential. The department benefits from a well-equipped food room and two full time technicians, and food is a popular subject at KS4. We currently offer AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition at GCSE, and experience or knowledge of this is desirable.
You will be an ambitious, committed and hardworking team player. Whether you are an NQT or an experienced teacher, you will be part of a highly motivated team of experienced teachers. You will have the ability to inspire students so that they reach their full potential, and will be willing to contribute to extra-curricular activities which enrich experiences for all pupils.
Carterton Community College is an improving and ambitious school judged “Good” by Ofsted. We have a sharp focus on maximising the achievement of students across all curriculum areas and teachers are encouraged to challenge and strive for on-going improvements, from both a curriculum and pastoral perspective. The successful candidate will have a vertical tutor group, and will be expected to fulfil the requirements of the pastoral development of the tutor group. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to maximise pupils progress
- Excellent planning and preparation of lessons
- Ability to work in a team of dedicated practitioners
- Enthusiasm and commitment for the subject
- The desire to have a positive impact on students’ lives
In return, we can offer:
- A supportive and positive environment with a culture of high aspirations
- Continuous professional development
