A wonderful and exciting position has arisen where by we are looking to appoint a Teacher of Food and Textiles. The successful candidate will be working across two faculties, The Creative & Performing Arts and Technology. Textiles is taught under the Art & Design curriculum and Food is taught within Technology. 

Food Technology is a popular subject at St Joseph's College and in recent years results have been strong. The subject is compulsory in Years 7 -9, offered as a GCSE option and also taught in our Prep School. The Technology Faculty is well resourced and includes two discrete and well-equipped Food Technology room.

We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring teacher to continue our strong provision within the subject. You will be able to engage students of all abilities, enabling each young person to achieve their potential. A single-minded focus on pupil outcomes and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school including extra-curricular are essential. Teachers are well supported by Heads of Faculty and the College provides an excellent CPD programme to further practice and pedagogy, this includes additional specialist training being available for all teachers to support with the delivery of courses.

St Joseph’s College was awarded Artsmark Gold by Arts Council England for its continued development and commitment towards the Creative & Performing Arts. With excellent facilities and a committed, hard-working and supportive staff, the College provides an outstanding well-rounded education.

Examination results are impressively high. The College is proud of continued success at local and national festival and competition level. Being part of the Creative & Performing Art Faculty is busy and highly rewarding. Throughout the year, there is a wide variety of arts events including art exhibitions, scholars’ exhibitions and cultural trips and visits. The annual College musical is a huge success and operates at an equal standard of a west end show. The Easter Extravaganza brings together poetry, literature, dance, music, art and drama. The performance is a celebration of the children’s engagement and experiences within the Arts in front of a large audience of friends, family and local community. A further highlight of the College’s calendar is the annual Arts Festival. The festival runs over a week enabling every child regardless of ability to participate in professional, rich and wide ranging art forms every day.

With effect from September 2021, we are seeking a Teacher of Food and Textiles to join our dedicated and talented Creative & Performing Arts and Technology Faculties and support with the teaching of Textiles.
