We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual with a passion for Food Technology and the ability to inspire our staff and students to join our school as a Teacher of Food Technology. The successful candidate will teach Food Technology up to Key Stage 4 (up to Key Stage 5 would be desirable) and play a central role in the Food Technology department, with the highest ambitions for learning across the department and rigorously high expectations. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching Food Technology, with detailed knowledge of current curriculum and pedagogical developments in their subject and the wider curriculum. A desire to raise overall achievement in Food Technology through promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning is essential. Candidates with the ability to teach up to Key Stage 5 are strongly encouraged to apply.
The ability to teach additional Technology subjects at Key Stage 3 is desirable.

Food Technology is a highly successful and very popular subject at Greenshaw, with an excellent track record of exam results. At Greenshaw, we follow the EDUQAS exam board. In summer 2018, our GCSE results in Food Technology are consistently outstanding with an ALPs score of 1. The department is made up of two specialist classrooms, equipped with all the appliances needed for both GCSE and A-level students. The Food Technology department works closely with the Art and Design department, and the successful applicant may teach some of the Key Stage 3 lessons within Art and Design, which provides a carousel of subjects in Years 7 and 8. The Art and Technology department consists of 11 well-equipped specialist rooms, a number of which have been very recently refurbished, an artist’s studio, as well as a fully functioning dark room. .
