Job overview

TEACHER - MPS

Start: September 2019. Lordswood Boys’ School, Birmingham.

Accountable to the Trust for the delivery of outstanding outcomes for young people, we are seeking to appoint a talented professional in the following area:

Closing date: Friday 29th March, 2019, Midday.

NQTs  welcome.

We recently appointed two teachers to join us for September 2019. Another teacher is required  to join our dedicated FOUNDATION STUDIES team now that we have had a massive increase in numbers wishing to join us, an increase we attribute entirely to the massive improvement in standards at LBS. You will teach Year 7 or Year 8 almost exclusively for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Teaching 17 hours per week on our thematic curriculum, you will work closely in a team of six to develop project-based learning as part of our highly innovative practice for our KS3 years. The rest of the time is for planning as a team and working collaboratively to ensure exceptional standards in assessment and quality assurance. You must be a strong classroom practitioner as well as a strong team player. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Full support will be given from our designated Foundation Studies Assistant Headteacher. Our new £14m school will open a few weeks into your tenure as Foundation Studies teacher and we will have two dedicated zones for this thematic work, zones dedicated to Years 7-8 as we roll out the programme.

We would welcome applications from any discipline.

Primary colleagues are more than welcome to apply as we are especially interested in placing LITERACY at the centre of the principal aims of the project.
