A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at St Mary’s Independent Senior School for an enthusiastic, passionate Teacher of French & Spanish and Pastoral Phase Lead for Years 10/11 and Transition onto Sixth Form. We are a highly successful independent day school for girls aged 3-16 years and boys aged 3-4 years situated on the outskirts of Colchester in Essex. St Mary’s is a member of the Girls’ Schools Association, the Independent Association of Prep Schools and the prestigious Round Square organisation.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, dynamic, and suitably qualified French & Spanish teacher who has a passion for languages and is excited by teaching and learning developments. They will need to be able to teach both French and Spanish confidently up to Key Stage 4. We are looking for a strong team player who will work collaboratively within the MFL Department and who will be dedicated to high standards of teaching. The successful applicant will also be dedicated to the provision of strong and nurturing pastoral support, appreciating the strong link between pupil well-being and attainment as this is a key priority of St Mary’s.

This unique opportunity invites the successful applicant to work with other members of the Languages Faculty in leading specific initiatives and projects combined with leading on the social, and emotional development of young people in years 10 & 11. This rewarding responsibility also provides an opportunity to support students in making a positive transition to develop, grow and enrich their lives beyond their education at St Mary’s.
