Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of French & Spanish on a full-time one year fixed term basis from September 2021. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join  an 11-18 academy, based in the market town of Easingwold in North Yorkshire, near York. They are in the middle of a transformation, both academically and physically. It has the highest performing Post 16 centre in North Yorkshire and GCSE results are the highest for non-selective schools, an achievement they are incredibly proud of.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner to join a Family of Schools. They will work as part of the team who rapidly transforms the school to one that offers outstanding provision up to A level; and is the school of choice in its community. Applications are invited for those with experience of teaching MFL or newly qualified teachers. You should possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of students and share their single goal of ‘students first’

Purpose:

- Carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with academy policies, under the direction of the Principal.

- Promoting the achievement of high standards through effecting teaching and learning within subject area(s), preparation, evaluation and action planning.

- Being central in the delivery of the ECM agenda, paying regard to the provision of personalisation for students.

- Modelling the vision and values of the academy.

- Receiving and acting on feedback to build on the strengths and improve personal performance within the academy systems.

- Contributing, where appropriate, to implementing policies and practice and to promote collective responsibility for their implementation.

The Successful Candidate:

- Good honours degree in a relevant subject 

- Teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

- Awareness of the strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students

- A good understanding of curriculum developments in the specific subject area

- Able to use a range of teaching and learning strategies 

- An understanding for how Assessment for Learning can improve student performance
