Salary: £27,498 - £41,412 pa (pro-rata for part-time)
Hours: 11.5 per week

A vacancy has arisen for a part-time permanent Teacher of French at Queensferry High School.  The post will be timetabled for full day Wednesdays as well as Thursday mornings (0.32 fte).  Please note that, as with all part-time posts, the actual timetabled days might change at the start of each new session to meet staffing/timetabled needs.

Queensferry High School is a non-denominational secondary school built in 1969, which serves the area of north west Edinburgh.  The catchment area comprises students from Dalmeny, Echline, Kirkliston and Queensferry primary schools.

The school is firmly committed to raising attainment and promoting achievement. This is a whole school priority in improvement planning and reflects local, CEC and national priorities.

The school will benefit from a new building scheduled for completion in Spring/Summer 2020. The school roll is over 900 and rising. The new build will have capacity for 1200 students and has commanding views of the Forth estuary (including the three bridges).

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
