Le Régent International School seeks to appoint a dynamic person with multicultural skills to teach FLE to students from Kindergarten to Grade 10. Passion for teaching, the French language and the French-speaking world is the most important skill.
Although Le Régent is an international school where English is the language of instruction, we welcome day students who live in the French-speaking part of Switzerland and whose parents are French speakers themselves. In addition, we encourage a strong attachment to local Valais culture and its people. The creation of this position is intended to strengthen our French department and develop the teaching and use of French within the school and in the local community over the coming years.

Founded in 2015, it is the youngest and the most modern international boarding school in Switzerland. Le Régent is a dynamic and growing IB World School. Le Régent International School is an official examination centre for the IB Diploma Programme, SATs, IELTS and Edexcel IGCSEs.
Professional skills & Requirements
- Native French speaker
- Swiss or EU or EFTA citizen or holding a work permit already valid in Switzerland. Regulations to obtain a work permit are considerably tighter for third-country nationals than they are for EU/EFTA nationals and getting a job offer is just one step of many.
- University degree (Master II de lettres modernes mention FLE or equivalent, LLCE and LEA not accepted - or PGCE);
- Experience in teaching FLE or French as a first language at primary level is required.
- As part of our commitment to ensuring children's safety by protecting them from all forms of violence and abuse, a recent extract from a criminal record is also required.
