Job overview
Required for October 2021 an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of French to join our successful Languages Department, to cover a colleague’s maternity leave. You will be expected to teach across the age and ability range up to and including in the Sixth Form.
This is an ideal opportunity for a new entrant to the profession or equally attractive to a more experienced colleague who would relish the opportunity of teaching French to advanced level with highly motivated students.
Last year’s GCSE results were 79% 9-4, ALPS Grade 3. A Level 71% A*-B and IBH 89% 5+, IBS 20% 3+.
The Anglo European School is a comprehensive school with a curriculum informed by a strong international dimension and with pupils who demonstrate outstanding personal development. About Anglo European School
Anglo European School is a 11-19, co-educational comprehensive school situated in Ingatestone, Essex. It has approximately 1,415 students.
The school was opened in 1973 after the closure of a secondary modern school led locals to campaign to keep the school open and the Local Authority, Essex, decided to establish a school with a “European Dimension”.
Anglo European School serves local needs but also draw students from across Essex and parts of London. In 1977 it became the first UK state school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and in 1995 the first comprehensive school to become a specialist Language college. In 2005 the school established the first co-headship model in a state secondary school.
As a centre of excellence for language learning, the school offers Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish as well as English as an Additional Language and Latin. Up until age 16 all students study two languages other than English.
In the sixth form, students must study one language. They have a choice of A-levels or an opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma. There is also the chance to study selected parts of the IB Diploma with A-levels. In addition, the International Baccalaureate Career Programme provides an internationally recognised vocational qualification.
