Job overview

Haberdashers' Adams

“An Outstanding School” in all four categories – Ofsted November 2013

We are a boy's school with co-educational Sixth Form. There are currently just over 1,000 pupils on roll; approximately 100 of these are boarders. The Sixth Form has about 368 students of whom approximately 85 are girls.

Due to the departure of a part-time member of staff the Department is looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher of French who will teach for approximately 1½ days per week and is welcome to join in with other aspects of school life. Applications are welcome from NQTs (ECTs) as well as more experienced teachers.

Both French and German are compulsory for all pupils in this school.  In Years 10 and 11, all pupils have to study at least one of French and German to GCSE and typically a very small number study both. We use the Pearson (Edexcel) GCSE French specification.

We offer A-level French in the Sixth Form.

This is a temporary fixed-term position for two terms (Spring & Summer 2022).

The Department has an active extra-curricular programme which includes trips and a variety of competitions.

For further information please contact the Registrar/Headmaster's PA , Mrs A Mills, on registrar@adamsgs.uk

Closing date for applications is 9am on Friday 5th November 2021.
