Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of an experienced Teacher of French who can play a key role challenging and inspiring pupils to achieve their full potential in Modern Foreign Languages at a school based in Wandsworth.

As a key member of their teaching community, you will be responsible for delivering excellence in teaching, based on your deep knowledge of French and its pedagogy. You will create a challenging and stimulating classroom climate that will motivate pupils to learn, think independently, take risks, and perform to the best of their abilities, ensuring they have every opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Modern Language teaching continues to grow and thrive at the school, with increasing interest in all of the languages they teach. The Department work collaboratively and are keen to share ideas, experiment with technology and bring the culture of countries where French, German and Spanish are spoken, into the classroom and the wider school community.

You will need a Modern Foreign Languages (French) degree with high honours, as well as QTS, and a proven excellent record of teaching French at GCSE and A level.

The ability to offer a second language (Spanish or German) would be advantageous.

From the briefing to all staff, to the half termly staff meetings, termly consultative group meetings and a common room committee, there’s also ongoing dialogue about the school’s aims.

All applicants need to have the Right to Work in the UK to be considered for the role.
