The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, based across East Sussex, is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all staff and pupils feel safe. We are three special schools, a secure unit, a large countywide alternative provision, a vocational free school and one of five teaching schools within East Sussex. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.  Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.

College Central, has two sites based in Eastbourne and Hastings, and provides specialised education to young people with who have been, or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school, with average class sizes of 8-10. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.  Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.

College Central, is seeking to recruit an experienced practitioner of general subjects (a specialism of core subjects and/or PE and Outdoor Exercise would be an advantage), starting as soon as possible.  We would welcome applications from all specialisms, with the ability to adapt to teach a range of other subjects in a specialised setting.  This position is primarily based at our Hasting site, but the successful candidate will be expected to work across all sites, as and when required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ensuring all pupils make progress and succeed.  You will be an effective and enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about your subjects, highly organised and has the ability to motivate and engage learners. A proven ability to work with challenging students and a resilient attitude are essential.

If successful, you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment, where your professional development is highly valued. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential.  We will provide you with high quality training and support.
