We are looking for a passionate and skilled teacher of geography to join our excellent Global Studies team at Hope Valley College. This vacancy is particularly suitable for an NQT who loves climbing and the outdoors. The successful applicant will be required to teach GCSE geography plus year 9 geography and humanities (including history, ethics and philosophy) to years 7, 8 & 9.

Our GCSE examination results are well above the national average for attainment and progress (see website for more details). In 2016, 76% of our students achieved at least a grade C in both English and maths (compared with 59.3% nationally and 62.4% average in Derbyshire). In 2014 the College was rated by Ofsted as 'Good'. Our improvement aims include ensuring our teaching and learning becomes 'Outstanding'. 

We are located just 30 minutes from Sheffield City Centre in the village of Hope in the stunning Peak District National Park in Derbyshire. We have our own climbing wall, mountain bike track, an enviable and outstanding music block/ performing arts facilities. A smaller than the average secondary school, you will find Hope Valley College a happy, supportive, friendly place to teach and develop your career. We are a member of the Sheffield Teaching School Alliance operating out of Silverdale School.
