The Role

We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated and ambitious Teacher of Geography to join our committed Geography team at Bacon’s College. If you are a dedicated, motivated and determined individual looking for an opportunity to make your mark in a large and supportive school with huge potential, this is the perfect opportunity for you to join our journey to success.

The department have had successful outcomes well above the national average for GCSE Grade 4+ 78% and Grade 5+ at 57% in 2018, and continue to have the drive and determination to improve further.

Results at A Level 60% A*-B in 2018, reflect the continued hardwork of students and staff in the Geography department.

About you

This role calls for an individual who is able to inspire, challenge and motivate our students. An ability to teach A-level Geography is an advantage. You must have the highest of expectations of every student, be enthusiastic, flexible and have a desire to flourish within the Geography team as well as the desire to become a valued member of Bacon’s College.

This is an exciting time to join Bacon’s College; if you share our high expectations and are passionate about making a difference then we look forward to receiving your application.

United Learning

Bacon’s College joined United Learning in Spring 2018, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

Bacon’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all who work at the school to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
