Job overview

Teacher of Geography

Salary: OLWA + R&R for suitably, experienced and qualified candidate.

Contract: full time, permanent

King Henry School is part of the new Odyssey Trust for Education with  unprecedented collaborative support of Townley Grammar School to provide excellent professional development opportunities.

We are a large, non-selective, mixed school on the Bexley/Kent border catering for 1688 students including over 250 in our successful Sixth Form. The school is located 15 minutes away from the Dartford Tunnel, M25 and Abbey Wood Crossrail and the A2 is 10 minutes away.

We are looking for an ambitious and inspirational teacher of Geography to join a well-resourced department which is part of the Humanities cluster.

Geography is taught as a discrete subject to all students in key stages 3 and 4 and is also a popular subject in key stage 5.

Ability to teach Geography at all KS3, KS4 and KS5 is essential.

The ability to teach the physical section/aspects of the course to A2 would be an advantage.

The school offers a full induction programme for all new members of staff with excellent professional development opportunities.

The position offers professional challenge and a rewarding opportunity supported by talented and dedicated colleagues.

With us, you can make a difference.

King Henry School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

King Henry School is an Equal Opportunities employer.

About Leigh Academy Bexley

Our Vision

We believe that every student should have the opportunity to be extraordinary through developing academic, physical and emotional confidence. This means having the courage to take risks and learn from their mistakes.  Success in education, as in sport, is the result of successive small failures followed by ever increasing challenges. As we tell our students;  “Everything worth achieving is outside your comfort zone.”
