Job overview

Leicester Grammar School is one of the UK's top-performing co-educational HMC independent day schools and the Sunday Times’ East Midlands Independent Secondary School of the Year 2020.

We have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring and well-qualified graduate to join our talented Geography team and to play a full part in school and departmental life. The person will offer both A level and GCSE Geography, and strength in both these areas is desirable. Although the successful candidate will be expected to teach both Human and Physical topics at A level, a willingness to teach Physical Geography lower down the school would also be desirable.

We are happy to consider experienced teachers, those who are early in their career or those who wish to embark on a teaching career by training for their PGCE through the University of Buckingham whilst at the school

A completed application form and curriculum vitae, accompanied by a covering letter addressed to Mr John Watson (Headmaster and Principal of Leicester Grammar School Trust), should reach the school as soon as possible, and no later than 9am on Monday 24 February 2020. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 4 March 2020.

Applications should be emailed to Mrs Erica Parsons, HR Administrator, at parsonse@leicestergrammar.org.uk

There is no need to send a hard copy at this stage.

Leicester Grammar School Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and this is reflected in its recruitment procedures. Successful candidates for posts are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.
