TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY 

Temporary One Year Maternity Leave Post  

From January 2019 we are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and well-qualified Teacher of Geography (temporary maternity leave post) for this oversubscribed comprehensive school with a long record of high student achievement.      

This year 73% of students gained 9-5 grades in both English and Maths at GCSE, and our motivated students make excellent progress. OFSTED graded the school as outstanding in all areas and commented “Students have outstanding attitudes to learning and take a pride in their work”. The Geography department is innovative and successful and Geography is a popular course at A Level and the ability to teach Geography to A Level is essential.    

Applicants should be keenly interested in how children learn, as well as committed to equal opportunities and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. The school offers staff excellent resources in a state-of-the-art building, a wide ranging professional development programme and support for career progression. The post would suit either an NQT or a more experienced teacher.

Whitmore High School is a mixed, non-denominational community comprehensive secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in the London Borough of Harrow, and is operated by the local council.

Whitmore was founded in 1974, and has about 1,600 pupils.
