We know that exceptional Geography Teachers are in high demand which is why we are offering a recruitment and retention bonus of £2,000 for the right candidate (£1,000 payable upon joining, and £1,000 payable after 1 year's service).

Due to an increase in student numbers at the academy, we are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Geography for September 2023. Our successful candidate will be able to deliver high-quality learning opportunities for our students across this curriculum area.​​​​ This is a truly fantastic opportunity for a passionate subject teacher to become part of a well-established, highly-collaborative and successful department. We are seeking to appoint an individual who can build rapport with our students and engage them in the subject, being a key member of the collaborative and well-established team. You’ll be joining the department at an exciting time as the improvements we are making are gaining momentum.

We can be receptive to teachers joining us at varying stages in their career; whether you are a recently qualified teacher or one who has many years teaching experience, we can ensure that you are developed within the department and wider academy. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We’d like to hear from you if you are:

  • An excellent teacher who is passionate about learning and has strong subject knowledge;
  • A keen advocate for the importance of geography education as part of the curriculum; 
  • Have a high level of teaching experience and delivery of results, or are a Newly Qualified Teacher looking for their first position; 
  • Collaborative, able to build strong professional relationships;
  • Able to motivate and inspire students and staff to achieve their full potential;
  • Energetic and have a ‘can-do’ attitude;

This also means that our staff have access to a wealth of digital training opportunities and will gain certification in Google as well as in many other digital tools.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2022, our Trust comprises 30 geographically organised academies (14 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 3,000 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway.
