Job overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving, diverse, co-educational independent day school on the outskirts of Bristol. We are looking for a dynamic and highly capable Teacher of Geography, contracted between 0.4 and 0.7 FTE, to join a popular and successful department, as well as contribute to the wider life of this busy holistic school community. This post is to cover maternity leave and is therefore offered as a temporary contract, starting after the Autumn half term 2023 for a maximum of 52 weeks.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and a great communicator. We welcome applications from teachers of Geography who are able to demonstrate a good knowledge of KS3, GCSE Geography, with knowledge of A ‘level Geography an advantage. This position would suit either an ECT or a more experienced teacher seeking an opportunity for professional development.

You will receive a competitive salary and other benefits include free lunches during term time, free on-site parking and use of the school’s gym facilities. The school also offers a discount on school fees for staff at the school.

We are proud of our high academic standards and our innovative approach to the development of teaching and learning across the school and we value the range of opportunities we provide for our pupils outside the classroom. We are an inclusive school with a strong pastoral system which puts student welfare and sense of belonging at the forefront. In our most recent ISI report the school was judged excellent in all areas; raw examination results are consistently good, value-add scores are high and we have waiting lists in most year groups.

Collegiate Senior School occupies a stunning thirty-acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site. We are easily accessible from the motorway network and provide an outstanding education for students aged from 3 to 18.
