We seek a part-time (0.7 FTE), teacher of geography to start on 4 January 2021. This is a maternity leave cover which is expected to last until January 2022.

Working as part of our energetic, collaborative geography team, the post holder will play a key role in inspiring students to engage with the subject material and to participate actively in lessons.  As a committed and dedicated teacher, the post holder will contribute to growing subject area, ensuring students benefit from a high quality learning experience.

Applications will be welcomed from well-qualified graduates, wishing to begin their teaching career by specialising in sixth form teaching.  Newly qualified teachers are able to acquire qualified teacher status at sixth form colleges and the college arranges for the necessary pre-16 teaching experience at one of our partner 11-16 schools.  For experienced teachers, post-16 experience in sixth form, tertiary or general FE colleges and maintained or independent schools will be equally relevant.  Although a postgraduate teaching qualification is preferred, applicants without this qualification are also encouraged to apply.  The college is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training.

This is a temporary, part-time post, subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association.  Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association teacher staff pay scale, NSP 1 – 9 (£24765 - £40418), depending on experience.
