Geography at Oxford High School

Geography is a popular subject at Oxford High School and we pride ourselves on excellent academic success. Our GCSE (95% grades 7-9) and A level results (91.5% A*/B 5 year average) speak volumes for both the dedication of students and staff and the high esteem that Geography is held by the school community.

We offer a whole range of enrichment activities, and fieldwork where we reinforce class-based learning with experience from other investigations and activities such as trips, lectures, competitions and our termly Geography film night etc.

Most importantly we are a well-resourced department which enables students to develop knowledge, skills and understanding from a broad range of both human and physical themes. We aim to provide a variety of teaching and learning experiences within a supportive and friendly atmosphere and hope to build upon and nurture our girls’ natural interest in their place in the world and to inspire their learning beyond the confines of the course.
