MAIN SCALE TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY

Required for September 2018

Due to expansion we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher of Geography to join our small friendly team. Geography is a popular subject with a good uptake at GCSE.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching Geography and who is ambitious for the success of our students. This post would be very suitable for a newly qualified teacher looking for their first appointment.

NQTs are fully supported by an Induction Programme. The school takes a collaborative view of learning where good practice is shared through a structured INSET Programme.

Royal Liberty is a small oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive school for boys situated on a very pleasant Grade II listed site. The school is in an excellent location, a short walk from the main line Gidea Park station to London Liverpool Street. The school has been judged as good in its last 2 Ofsted inspections and we are striving to improve further.

In February 2017 we became an academy and joined the Success for All Multi Academy Trust with Redden Court School.

Through the Priority Schools Building Programme and Local Authority expansion funding we will be undergoing a refurbishment of the main block and adding many new facilities.

The Success for All Educational Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If successful for this position you will be expected to undertake a disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service before appointment is confirmed. References will be sought on shortlisted candidates before interview.

The Geography department is part of a successful and supportive humanities faculty. At GCSE we follow the AQA A syllabus and we work closely and collaboratively with our partner school in planning and delivering the new GCSE specification. If you have a passion for Geography and a desire to help young people achieve the very best they can we would love to hear from you.

The Royal Liberty School is a popular, over-subscribed 11-16 school for boys.  We are located a short walk from Gidea Park Station on a beautiful grade II listed site.

In 2017 we joined the Success for All Educational Multi Academy Trust.  We are making extensive use of our partnership with Redden Court School to continually raise standards of teaching and learning and student outcomes.

From September 2018 we are expanding by 1 form of entry (to 5 forms) to meet the increasing demand for places.  We have received funding for an extensive refurbishment of our buildings.

We are a small school and have a strong sense of community.  Boys are proud to be a part of the school and this reflected on their excellent behaviour and eagerness to take on roles of responsibility and to represent us in the local community.

Staff and students have excellent relationships based on mutual respect.  All members of the school community are ambitious to succeed.  Students feel supported to achieve the very best they can and encouraged to develop the skills and qualities they need to be successful every stage of their life.
