Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Geography on a full-time OR part-time permanent basis from April 2022, or sooner if possible. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join an 11-16, 'Good' rated academy based in the market town of Stockton-on-Tees, in vibrant County Durham. They are a medium-sized school with a big heart and even bigger plans for the future. In their recent Ofsted inspection, it was noted in the report that they are ‘being rapidly transformed through the highly effective actions of leaders and the trust.’

The school places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. You will possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference in the lives of students and share their single goal of ‘Students First, raising standards and transforming lives’.

Purpose:

- Carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with academy policies, under the direction of the Principal

- Promoting the achievement of high standards through effective teaching and learning within the subject area(s), preparation, evaluation and action planning

- Being central in the delivery of the ECM agenda, paying regard to the provision of personalisation for students

- Modelling the vision and values of the academy

- Being part of the team driving the development to become an ‘outstanding’ school

- Receiving and acting on feedback to build on the strengths and improve personal performance within the Academy systems

- Contributing, where appropriate, to implementing policies and practices and to promote collective responsibility for their implementation

The Successful Candidate:

- A degree in an appropriate discipline related to relevant subject

- Teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

- Awareness of the strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students

- Recent and relevant teaching experience in employment or training 

- Experience of assessment at Key Stage 3 and 4
