We seek to appoint a well-qualified, graduate teacher of Geography from January 2018 on a temporary contract for two terms to join our highly successful and supportive Geography department. The department has an enviable record of success in public examinations and students who are dedicated to, and passionate about, the subject. There is some flexibility for a part-time candidate down to a minimum of 3 days; 4 days would be ideal.
Bexley Grammar School is an oversubscribed, high achieving, coeducational selective school with Academy status. As an IB world school with excellent resources, a thriving Sixth Form, Specialist College Status in Languages and a wealth of extra-curricular activities, this school provides an exciting and enriching educational experience for all. In 2017, 92% of Geography students achieved A*-B grades at GCSE.
Geography is an extremely popular subject choice at both KS4 and Key Stage 5. At Key Stage 5, the department offers Geography in the International Baccalaureate and there would be the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of this innovative course. There is a full and varied fieldwork programme with opportunities in each year group for students to develop high level enquiry skills in a diverse range of environments, including overseas visits each year to either Morocco or Iceland.
