Job overview
Teacher of Geology and Geography (with Subject Responsibility for Geology)
A well-qualified, innovative and motivated (newly qualified or experienced) full time teacher is required to teach a combination of A Level Geology approx. 0.7 and A Level Geography approx. 0.3. We would also consider appointing two separate people to a part-time Geology and a part-time Geography post (with some flexibility possible over the exact proportion). An additional payment for subject responsibility will be available for a candidate with suitable experience.
Geology and Geography are well-established, highly successful and popular subject areas. Results are often higher than national benchmarks, with a high proportion of students progressing onto Higher Education including Russell Group universities.
It is hoped to recruit a newly qualified or experienced teacher who would want to contribute to the future success of the department and be fully involved in the delivery of courses for the 16-19 age group. They should aim to make their teaching an exciting experience for students and to involve them in a wide range of activities which enhance their understanding and commitment.
