Job overview

Full time Maternity Cover

Required from November 2019

Clifton High School is an academically selective, co-educational, independent day school for 600 pupils aged 3-18 years. Situated on a beautiful Bristol site, we operate the Diamond Edge Model of education underpinned by a strong pastoral and family ethos.

Sport, physical education and Games play an important role in the personal development of all pupils across the School.  As such, we are looking to appoint a Physical Education specialist.  Our sports facilities include an on-site, first-class swimming pool, MUGA (Multi User Games Area), Health and Fitness Suite and a gymnasium with climbing wall; further extensive facilities are shared with our partners, the University of Bristol, at the nearby Coombe Dingle Sports complex.

We would like to hear from well-qualified Physical Education teachers; applications from County players are desirable. The ability to teach a full range of Games and PE to girls and mixed groups, as well as the ability to run teams and extra-curricular activities is essential.  The role will involve considerable contribution to after-school and weekend sports events and fixtures.   The successful candidate will teach all age groups, from 3-18 years; experience of teaching Years 1 to 6 would be an advantage but is not a pre-requisite.

A commitment to the wider education of pupils through extra-curricular activities is an expectation.  The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community.

Further details can be found at www.cliftonhigh.co.uk. Completed application forms should be accompanied by a covering letter of application, to illustrate how the requirements of the post will be met, and emailed to the Head of School, Dr Alison Neill, at recruitment@cliftonhigh.co.uk

Clifton High School is committed to safeguarding children and young people and expects all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
