Job overview

NQTs welcome to apply

Do you believe that teaching PE has the power to change young people’s lives? Do you put the success of the students in your class first? Do you love working as part of a vibrant and forward-thinking team?

Penistone Grammar School Advanced Learning Centre is looking to recruit a permanent full-time Teacher of PE (Girls) with the enthusiasm, drive and talent to continue the department’s well-established tradition of success.

We are looking for a PE teacher who shares the vision and ethos of the school, and who believes they can make a difference in the life of each and every student they teach. The department prides itself on its innovative practice, consistently high standards of teaching and learning, and commitment to the success of all students. If this sounds like you, we want you to be part of our team.

The successful candidate will have either previous experience of teaching with a proven track record at KS4 and KS5, or will be excited at the opportunity of taking on teaching and/or responsibility in these key areas.

As a result of pending maternity leave within the department it is likely there will be the opportunity for applicants to apply for an internal, temporary TLR vacancy for 2 terms after September 2017.

If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a school where our values are central to all we do and where tradition and innovation perfectly complement each other, we are the school for you.

Penistone Grammar School Advanced Learning Centre is a ‘Good’ school poised to be ‘Outstanding’ very soon. We are a vibrant, oversubscribed 11 to 18 comprehensive school with excellent GCSE results across all subjects. We are recognised as one of the highest performing schools in the region in terms of Key Stage 4 outcomes and our A level results and destinations are equally impressive with almost all students gaining entrance to their first choice universities.

For an application form and pack or to arrange a visit to our school, please email our Recruitment Partner, Jessica Galvin at Hays Education on 0114 217 1556 or jessica.galvin@hays.com

There’s no doubt that our amazing student body of 1900 students, including 300 Post 16 students, and our state-of-the-art building set in beautiful surroundings, make coming to work worthwhile. However, what really makes Penistone the school it is, is our staff. Our success as a school is directly attributable to the collaborative interaction and support between colleagues, complemented by a commitment to doing all they can for the benefit of each and every one of our students. We value the unique contribution each member of staff makes to our learning community.

We are fully committed to meeting the needs of all our students and providing them with the very best teaching and learning. Students come to us from the small town of Penistone and from the surrounding villages. We also take students from further afield and we are over-subscribed.
