Teacher of Girls PE 0.6

Maternity Cover until August 2018

Are you a dynamic and innovative PE Teacher who is committed to raising participation and attainment levels?

We need you to join our high achieving PE department, teaching across all Key Stages. You will have a good level of knowledge across all sport (a specialism in Hockey would be advantageous), be committed to our extensive extra-curricular programme and promote a positive team culture.

The school sport facilities include a Sports Centre with a four court indoor tennis facility, gymnastic centre, new sports hall, ATP, four new football pitches, indoor cricket nets, cricket pitch and pavilion, fitness suite and girls/boys outdoor and indoor changing facilities.

The Sports Centre is supported by Somerset County Cricket, the LTA and FA. The subject area has large numbers of students following GCSE, BTec Levels 2 & 3 and A Level courses.

Dragonfly Multi Academy Trust (MAT) incorporates Mendip Studio School, Writhlington School, a Sixth Form and Peasedown St John Primary School. With the exception of the Primary School, all are located on a large modern state of the art campus that benefits from exceptional media facilities, a 400-seat theatre and a Community Sports Centre. All students and teachers have their own iPad for use in school and at home to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

New staff ideas are encouraged and there are endless opportunities to lead and to contribute to its wide range of extra-curricular activities: a large Combined Cadet Force, international links with China, Tanzania & Rwanda that support the 14-19 curriculum and an internationally recognised orchid project.

If you would like to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking and supportive school environment, apply by Monday 27th November 2017.

Interviews will be held week commencing 4th December 2017.
