The Boswells School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of Girls PE. We are looking for the successful candidate to deliver high quality PE lessons to develop an already strong provision within our PE faculty.   

It’s an ideal opportunity to begin or further develop a career teaching PE as part of a supportive team of 6 specialists where PE is taught across all the key stages. There is the potential opportunity for teaching PE at all key stages as well as BTEC Level 3 and GCSE PE. There is also the expectation that the successful candidate will be involved in a large and varied extra-curricular provision within the PE Department. This role requires excellent subject knowledge in teaching and coaching Netball and Basketball.  Experience in Volleyball would be desirable but not essential.  

The Faculty has excellent facilities including a swimming pool, a sports hall and vast playing fields.

The Boswells School is an 11-18, very successful, popular and oversubscribed school in the Springfield area of Chelmsford, Essex. We have achieved record GCSE results for the school in the last 3 years with 71% of our students achieving a grade 4 or above and 53% grade 5 or above in English and Mathematics last year. Our sixth form is also thriving and results in this area are also well above both Essex and National averages. Academic Achievement

We are extremely proud of the achievements of our students. 2019 was another superb year for The Boswells School with our GCSE and A Level results making us one of the highest performing non-selective secondary schools in Essex. In 2019, 55% of our A Level students achieved A* to B grades, 88% of our A Level students achieved A* to C grades, 83% of our GCSE students achieved a Good pass (Grade 4+) in Eniglish and 71% of our GCSE students achieved a Good pass (Grade 4+) in Maths.

The percentage of students who achieved the expected levels of progress in English and Mathematics was significantly above the national average as was the percentage of students who achieved more than expected progress in these areas.
