Sherfield School is looking to recruit a dynamic, committed and inspirational teacher of Girls’ PE for September 2025 to teach across the age range. Working within the PE team, the successful candidate will be an organised, positive and passionate individual with a strong work ethic. They will be highly motivated, able to work collegiately and have the drive to excel in a truly fabulous educational environment.
Physical Education and sport are central features of our school experience with excellent facilities, talented students and numerous opportunities to progress and succeed. The successful candidate will join a committed and highly professional team of staff with a wide range of expertise. The ability to deliver hockey, netball and cricket is highly desirable, together with experience in leading additional sports and fitness activities.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive but are indicative of the requirements of this role:
- To plan and deliver lessons and coaching across a range of year groups, catering for pupils of varying abilities with appropriate support or challenge as required.
- To plan and deliver lessons according to the agreed curriculum, under the guidance of the Director of Sport.
- To assess and report on pupils’ progress in line with departmental and school requirements.
- To participate fully in the Co-Curricular programme, assisting with the running of clubs, both before and after school.
- To take responsibility for teams across a range of year groups and sports, supporting with training and umpiring on match days.
- To contribute to all areas of the PE department, including planning for sporting events and tournaments.
- To participate fully in the school’s Professional Learning programme.
- To promote the good work of the school in the wider community
- Every member of staff has a duty to commit to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils at the school
