We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated PE teacher with an infectious passion for the subject, to join us at The de Ferrers Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for you to create innovative and exciting learning opportunities for our students.
To be successful, you will be confident in the delivery of Physical Education and have the ambition and dedication to continue to develop the curriculum in line with current practice and research in effective teaching.
You will be able to support the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively, you will be passionate about your specialist subject and seek to positively impact your field and the Academy.
We benefit from a strong local reputation which is the reason we have increased our admission number to 410. Our expansion has been facilitated by the acquisition of a third site for our popular Sixth Form in the town centre. This has led to a re-organisation of our students, with Year 7 and Year 8 educated at the Dove Campus and Years 9-11 at the Trent Campus, which are half a mile apart.
We were delighted by our January 2017 Ofsted inspection which emphasised the outstanding aspects of our work, including high levels of progress and attainment. We value our staff team, and this is reflected in the wide range of professional development opportunities which are offered both internally and externally. In recent years, we have developed an international reputation for learning technologies, becoming both an Apple Distinguished School and Regional Training Centre; we provide a 1-to-1 iPad programme for all students in Year 9-Year 13.
