Values and vision

Bishop Walsh Catholic School’s ethos is built on the Catholic tradition and focuses on social awareness, spiritual development and academic excellence. It wants to support the spiritual, moral, social, vocational and cultural development of all its students. The secondary school believes that all British values – such as democracy, rule of law, mutual respect and individual liberty – are rooted in the teachings of the gospel.

Bishop Walsh's curriculum is broad and balanced to give its pupils a well-rounded education. Teachers understand that all children are individuals created in the image of God, with their own strengths, interests and talents.

Ofsted report

The proportion of pupils achieving good GCSE grades, including English and mathematics is much higher than the national average. Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding.
