The School

Prospective candidates are welcome to come and look around the school to see for yourself what makes Kingsbury High different. As a large 12 form entry 11-18 split site school we are situated in an inner London location, but with an out of London feel – surrounded by parkland with large playing fields and great local amenities, excellent transport links to enable easy access from central London and fringe areas. Our school is truly diverse in its makeup, whilst united as one family working to achieve the best for all our students.

The Faculty

We are looking to appoint a teacher who will teach core girls’ physical education across the full ability and age range. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and will be seeking to appoint a teacher who has an ability to teach across all aspects of the subject. In addition, the PE department are responsible for the development and delivery of the active well-being for Years 7, 8 and 9. Extra-curricular work is very important to the Faculty, the students and to the school. The successful applicant will need to embrace this commitment and play a full and active part in the greater life of the school. In addition the Faculty leads on extended learning across the school, opportunities exist for residential education and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

The PE Department is one of three departments within a thriving Faculty of Physical Education and Extended Learning. There are currently 9 full time teachers in the PE Department in addition to a sports apprentice and Curriculum Associate. GCSE PE is a popular subject at Year 11, currently we have 3 sets. We also have a thriving sports leadership course in the Sixth Form, currently numbering 6 groups in Years 12 and 13. The work of the leaders is recognised and valued across all aspects of the school. The Faculty is extremely supportive and will suit a teacher who is looking to work collaboratively with professionals who care about their subject, their students and the school.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic NQT or an experienced teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning. Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to the subject are essential. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an imaginative, creative and inspiring teacher to work in a supportive and energetic school where students are making significant and sustained progress.
