An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic teacher of Girls’ PE to join our team in January 2018 (with an earlier start possible). A specialism in Hockey would be helpful but is not essential.
Our PE department is known for its excellence in teaching and learning, in addition to having a strong record of success in inter-school competitions and being a proud owner of the prestigious Sportsmark Award. PE is a very popular choice at both GCSE and A-level and achieves excellent examination results. GCSE results in summer 2017 were 93% A*-C and A Level results were 67% A*-B. The department boasts superb facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, sports hall, huge playing fields, cricket nets, floodlit multi-purpose pitches, gym, dance studio and fitness suite. The ability to teach both GCSE is required. A-level experience would be an advantage but is not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the extra-curricular programme.
This post is a maternity cover until July 2018 with a chance of permanent employment should a suitable opportunity become available.
Kennet School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment, including being subject to a full DBS check.
